A New Song

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
A feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
Of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.
And he will swallow up on this mountain
The covering that is cast over all peoples,
The veil that is spread over all nations.
He will swallow up death forever;
And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
And the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
For the Lord has spoken.
It will be said on that day,
“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us
This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
Let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
Isaiah 25:6-9

“Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink;
But you have saved the best till now.”
John 2:10

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.”
And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:39-43

Best For Last

I am so thirsty Lord, I am so dry
My cup is empty and I’ve barely got the strength
To testify to what this world so loudly denies
“Pie in the sky” They only laugh
But I know that You’ve saved the best for last

I know You’re there and Your love can heal
Even when pain is all that I feel, comes a day
When all of this will fade, in the gray of the distant past
Though I get tired on this narrow path
I know that You’ve saved the best for last

When my strength is fading, I can’t carry this cross
When I’m so tired of waiting, and counting the cost
The harvest is gone, and yet no relief
But Lord I believe… Help my unbelief

As You hung on that cross, God’s spotless lamb
I remember You said, “My servant will be where I am”
If only a thief, asking for grace in the end
“Remember me when Your reign comes to pass”
‘Cause I know that You’ve saved the best for last

I know that You’ve saved the best for last
